I was bored and took a picture of my bag close up and all the colours reflected from it, I would call this a happy accident.

Burger king encouraging fashion!

I never thought I'd say this, but burger king have been giving away free toys that encourage fashion design and print... And they're actually quite cute!!

My 6 year old sister woke me up the other morning shoving one in my face; she'd been holding on to it to show me for weeks! And I was shocked to hear it was from burger king as I did actually think it was pretty cool! So bravo BK!

Finally! all the hard work has paid off from the last year, and my collection showed yesterday in Earls Court for Graduate Fashion Week, in the AUCB show. My collection was inspired by escapism and futurism: contrasting a consumerist society with the old idea of small, self-sufficient communities. I am a textiles/print designer by heart and so this was a lovely opportunity to really experiment with them: and I used technology ie through chemical reactions on natural fabrics to question the mix match of ideals shown in society today: what do we really want to/ need to do in order to change?

Organic childrenswear article

I wrote an article for a new magazine called Rock Paper Scissors on ethical children's wear, I was really pleased to be able to promote fairtrade and organic, quality fabrics over consumerism.

Writing for fashion Capital

Last September I was able to go and see the Esthetica exhibition and write an article on Ethical fashion, which later got published on the FashionCapital. It was really interesting and such a great experience!

This is an example of two of the beautiful bags by Katy Bell, made entirely of coffee bean bags, vegitan leather and recycled fabrics.

Yayoi Kasuma exhibition at the Tate

Infinity mirrored room - filled with the brilliance of life, is one of the rooms in the new exhibition at the Tate in London. It is a mirrored room, with the floor having a layer of shallow water covering it. Hanging from the ceiling are a series of small LED lights that flash on and off in different colours.

It creates a sense of infinity, giving the viewer a sense that they are walking through and endless space that is broken up by small pieces of light.

I think its absolutely beautiful, and look forward to seeing it!

On the road, Jack Kerouac

On the road, was a book written by Jack Kerouac, about the beat generation, I read it last summer, and its very different to anything else i've ever read, so I'm intrigued to see how it will presented in the film.

Ballet Russes

This is an image from the beginning of the twentieth Century, from the Ballet Russes, a product of the  Russian revolution, this ballet brought a much needed new sense of optimism to Europe.


The economic, political and social confusion of the revolutions was expressed using several different mediums, which were combined to create a united world, hence the use of artists to design costumes etc.


New perspectives were created through a sense of humanism, where the contradictions of modern life were communicated through the use of colour and complex, contradictory relationships between different forms of creative art became the norm. 


The ballet company was formed by Serge Diaghilev, and through the use of colour, and the help of artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Sonia Delaunay, new stage sets and costumes were made.

The costumes for the Ballet Russes were largely inspired by the Orient, as Diaghilev was highly fond of several different aspects of life there; including the bright colours and rich fabrics such as silk.

Chloe A/W 2012

Chloe's A/W collection was shown in Paris a few days ago, I love the classic over sized style combined with the pastel colours; a lovely way to lighten up a dark winters day!

I'm a great lover of textures and textiles and I think the subtly that Clare Waight Keller presents through this collection, creates a kind of throw on sophistication.

I modelled in a land girls shoot for Aisha Green, a friend creating a graduate magazine, and now online editor for Teenbook magazine.

Junya Watanabe A/W 2012

Junya Watanabe's A/W ready-to-wear 2012 collection was shown in Paris last week, and I love it! Watanabe mutated traditional menswear clothes to create bold new forms, this combined with the destruction of other pieces that look similar to that of an apron, suggest a comment on todays society,  changing and manipulating itself to push boundaries and create a new norm.

The bright hair also seems to create a contrast with the clothes, where it causes you to take a second look at the outfit, because its not what you would first expect.

Crazy Clown Time, David Lynch

David Lynch's debut album, Crazy Clown Time, was released in November, and I absolutely love it! So alternative, and true to David Lynch's style. Junya Watanabe used this track amongst others from the album in his latest collection shown at Paris Fashion week earlier this week.

Welcome to kitty city

As much as I love cats, I find this video rather disturbing! Well crafted, but I'm not sure I'd like it if kitties  were transformers!

Invisible children

This is a video for the campaign with invisible children, to stop Joseph Kony, by making him famous. . His army in Africa abduct children, forcing them to become sex slaves, killers and mutilators. Phyllis Galembo

These are images from Phyllis Galembos book, called MASKE. A comment on art, fashion and religion, the way we adorn ourselves often suggests on our place in society, our identity and presents us in a way we wish to be perceived. It explores african masks and the different powers they can represent. I absolutely adore her use of colour and textiles, and find this image extremely inspiring.
